Kim

In the centre of Rudyard Kipling's novel Kim are two men: a boy on the verge of adulthood and an aged ascetic lama. The boy, Kim, is born in India, but he is white, a sahib. However, he is orphaned and thus becomes an apprentice to the lama. Simultaneously, he is also trained by the British intelligence service. Although Kim desires to participate in the great political games of imperialism, he is spiritually connected to the lama, and his aim is to unite the two factions.
Kim [1901] is one of Rudyard Kipling's most prominent novels, a vivid portrait of a bustling India.

JOSEPH RUDYARD KIPLING [1835-1936] was an English author born in British India and a Nobel Prize laureate in literature. Kipling was one of the most popular writers in the United Kingdom during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with timeless classics such as The Jungle Book and Kim.
